Firstly, I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well. I’m so sorry to hear we have to postpone your wedding, it must be an incredibly difficult time for you, but I know we will have an amazing time celebrating, just a little later down the line.
I have put together this page which I hope will be useful in terms of helping you postpone your wedding.
Firstly, Have you had any contact from your venue about covid-19? If you haven’t, I would recommend speaking to them and finding out their policies and current stance. At the moment venues seem to be working on a month-by-month basis, as we know, the situation is ever changing, but it may help give you piece of mind too. It would be great if you could also keep me in the loop as much as possible, with your venues advice.
At the moment I’m following updates closely so I’m fully informed on the latest government advice given.
So what does this all mean in terms of your wedding photography? Your paid deposit will be transferred to your new date, if I am available. I would ask you to liaise with me (and all your other suppliers) about dates given by the venue, to see which ones suppliers can do, before confirming the new date with the venue. My current suggestion is to opt for a weekday or ‘off-peak’ date so you are most likely to keep all of your suppliers.
I am not charging my couples to postpone their date as long as the new date is within 12 months of the original date. Couples moving 12 months + or into 2022 may incur a fee, please contact me if you are thinking of moving this far in advance.
I have included a calendar below, to show my availability, I hope this helps in re-scheduling your wedding. Please email me with dates you are considering after viewing the calendar, so I can pencil your name besides these in my diary, just incase another couple chooses these dates too, dates are being taken quite quickly so please keep me fully informed.
Don’t see availability on the date you want? Email me, this could be because I am in talks with another couple about this date, but it may become free again. But there is no guarantee as it may be already booked.
What happens if I’m not available for your new date? If you do change your wedding date and I am not available, I have a great group of associate photographers who I trust whole-heartedly, who would photograph your wedding. I would offer you the option of keeping your booking with me, but have another trusted photographer photograph you on your day. I would still be your point of communication and I would still edit your photographs in my style. This wouldn’t cost you any extra.
If you do cancel your wedding or postpone to an unavailable date / do not want an associate, then sadly your deposit remains non-refundable, but I am currently wavering additional cancellation charges due to the situation we find ourselves in.
Again, please keep in touch & keep me fully informed throughout your postponement process, this way I can make sure I am available for your date.
Please feel free to email me with any questions, I would be happy to help.
